Welcome to Visionof Hope Prison Ministry

"Woe to those who enact unjust statutes and who write oppressive
decrees, depriving the needy of judgment and robbing my peoples'
poor of their rights, making widows their plunder, and orphans
their prey."

Who We Are

We are honored that you are visiting our web site. Being a religious organization, we are always striving to find new ways to get our message out to current and prospective members. This web site allows us to reach people we may never have been able to contact before.

At the present time we are corresponding with approximately 500 inmates around the country. Many of these are on death row and desperately need to hear that they haven't been forgotten.

Please sign our Guest Book before you leave.

What Keeps Us Going

Clair Luckabaugh Clair Luckabaugh

As an unwilling guest of the State of South Carolina for 6 years, I know the over crowding of our prison systems and the heartbreak of having a loved one incarcerated.

It was 1995 as I sat in the Charleston South Carolina County Jail that I met Jamie. Jamie was a young man looking for something. The jails and prisons are definitely the house of Satan and he works very hard against the young to keep them from learning about Jesus. I had just met the Man, myself and was trying to tell everyone what I believed. I handwrote Bible studies for those that requested them and talked with others. I wasn't perfect by a long shot. I was headed for prison even though I was denying it.

To get back on track, the more I talked with Jamie about Jesus the wilder he got. His mind went back to his drugs and other things that he had in the world. His grandfather bailed him out of Jail and the next thin I heard about Jamie, he was dead. He and his girlfriend had been killed in a high speed chase and shootout with the police. I lost him. I was then determined that no matter what route my life took at this point, I would never loose another one to Satan. I sat in my cell and cried, even more determined to make the difference in someone's life.

My son was also incarcerated in Maryland at the time. He founded Vision of Hope and I was supposed to ride along as the music leader, time came when I was doing things on my own and with the help of my church created a Pen Friend Program and several other programs that will be described on this site.
